Cleveland contre Wall Street

A film by Jean-Stéphane Bron

2010 Switzerland, France - Documentary Drama

synopsis

On January 11, 2008, the attorney Josh Cohen and his partners are mandated by the city of Cleveland to sue the 21 banks deemed responsible for the real estate foreclosures that have devastated the city. But the Wall Street banks that they attack avoid going to trial by all possible means. This film tells the story of a trial that should have taken place. A cinematic trial, but the story, the characters and the testimonies are real. For they all play themselves in Cleveland Court room: the judge, lawyers, witnesses and even the members of the jury.Step by step, witness after witness, the film reveals the workings on a human level of the risky sub-prime mortgage loans.
